Graded Ballet Examinations
Our students have the option to take part in graded ballet examinations with an external examiner through an official examination board.
We are incredibly proud of students' exceptional examination achievements, with every student receiving either a Highly Commended or Distinction award in recent years.

The Benefits of Ballet Examinations
Examinations provide a wonderful way to develop student's technique, musicality, confidence, performance and artistry skills. Exams give children a chance to work towards a goal, experience performing in a new environment and celebrate their progress with a real sense of pride and achievement.
Examinations are completely optional, and children can continue to progress through our classes without taking part. Students are only entered into an exam when they are ready and feel confident. Our focus is always on making ballet a positive and enjoyable experience for every child, whether they choose to take exams or not.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The Exam Day
Exam day begins in familiar surroundings. Students arrive in their class uniform and gather with their group to warm up, while their teacher and lovely helpers assist with their hair and final preparations. Each student is given their candidate number to wear on the front of their uniform, along with their report card and any props needed for the exam. With everything taken care of and plenty of familiar faces around them, they can step into the exam room feeling prepared, supported and ready to do their best, helping to replace nerves with excitement and confidence.
The examination board which will provide the examiner, have a well known reputation for creating a welcoming, emotionally safe and adaptable exam environment for every student. As always with our school, the focus is on ensuring every child has a positive experience that they will remember for years to come. After completing the exam, children will receive an official certificate and report from the Irish Board of Dance Performance along with a medal for their achievement.
